Lake Winnipesaukee's specialty wiring and electrical-restoration service for boats, equipment and more!
This was a unique project that took place quite a number of years ago. This cold molded 1-off, pt style 55' cruiser, was propelled by twin Detroit Diesel engines.
The owner wanted to try two converted light weight turbine motors. They were rebuilt Walter 601E that were once used in helicopters.
Regardless of provisions to combat the characteristics of a turbine, the project was scrapped as the engines were hard to keep cool, let alone the noise was staggering.
Power generation and starting was 24VDC with 24-12V converters for other house loads.
A very unique project at the time.
